Wakasa-Wada Beach

In April of 2016, Wakasa-Wada Beach became the first beach in Asia to earn the Blue Flag international environmental certification. It was also selected as one of the Ministry of the Environment's “Best Beach 100.” In addition, Ao no Matsubara, a beautiful pine forest that stretches along a kilometer of the coastline, as well as the spectacular “Mt. Fuji of Wakasa,” Mt. Aoba, are located nearby. The water along the beach is generally fairly shallow, making it great even for small children.
