Uriwarinotaki (Breaking Waterfall)

The name, literally “gourd-breaking waterfall,” comes from a legend that states that the water from this spring is so cold that it caused a gourd to split open. In 1985, it was selected as one of the Ministry of the Environment's “100 Exquisite and Well Conserved Waters.” The area around the spring enjoys pure water and lush greenery, helping keep it cool and comfortable even in summer. Uriwari Meisui Park is also home to some 10,000 hydrangeas, which bloom in a variety of colors each June.
