Sotomo (Scenic Coastline)

Selected as one of Japan's 31 Most Beautiful Places for the American cable news channel CNN's web feature in March of 2015. Sotomo stretches along some six kilometers of the coastline, with dynamic natural beauty such as the famous Omon and Komon (rocks with large holes passing through them), as well as a variety of dramatic rocks, crevices, waterfalls, and more.

Hours

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in winter) — pleasure cruise boats depart every hour, on the hour, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (eight voyages per day)

Closed

In December, pleasure cruise boats depart only at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily (two voyages per day). In January and February, pleasure cruise boats run only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
