Kehi Jingu Shrine
Kehi Jingu Shrine, known affectionately as “Kei-san,” is said to have been built in the year 702. The 11-meter-tall wooden torii gate was made from juniper wood that drifted ashore from Sado Island, and stands alongside those at Nara's Kasuga-taisha Shrine and Hiroshima's Itsukushima Shrine as one of Japan's three greatest wooden torii gates. It is nationally designated as an Important Cultural Property.
