Wakasa Town
Wakasa Mikata Jomon Museum
Learn about the lifestyle and culture of Jomon-era people, through exhibits of unglazed earthenware, dugout canoes, and other items unearthed at the Torihama shell mound. There are also hands-on Jomon lifestyle lessons, like how to make an earthenware flute or a magatama bead, or how to start a fire. Visitors can also learn firsthand about living in a pit house, or try other Jomon-era experiences, at Jomon Roman Park.
